本日は晴天なり!It’s a fine day!

Look at this sky.  This is the clearest sky we ever had in 2010.  Spring has finally come to NYC!

And today on April 10th, we, NIHONGOchannel and friends enjoyed the sounds, images and tastes of spring at NIHONGOchannel The Party Vol.2 – hana.

No hana, no spring…so the party was full of hana, 花, flowers everywhere…

With the full-house of guests, The Party started with a spring flower-themed concert.

Everyone, please welcome our guest artists, singer Keiko Kai and pianist Saya Callner~~~

Keiko and Saya selected 2 very happy HANA, flower themed songs for us.
First song was Haruga Kita – Spring has come.

And the 2nd song, Hana – Flower.

After the concert. we had a crafting activity, where every one made a one-of-a-kind, handmade greetings card with flower motifs.

Then of course, we had our usual mini Japanese Lesson.  I know the lesson was basic this time…but be ready, because it won’t be at Vol.3, 4, 5…

By this time, everyone was more than ready for KAMPAI.  It’s spring, the flowers are blooming, and it’s time to enjoy umeshu, a Japanese plum flower fruit wine.

Kampai~!!  Thank you, everyone for waiting & now you can enjoy talking to one another…it’s a free conversation time.

Today, we definately caught the spring at its earliest in NYC!
Hearing beautiful flower songs, making flower-themed cards, and drinking Japanese spring flower fruit wine, we really felt the spring, didn’t we?

本日は晴天なり!Honjitsu wa seiten nari.
It’s a fine day!
Everyone, thanks for sharing this beautiful spring day with NIHONGOchannel.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend & hope to see you all again at our next party happening in late May.
