American ENKA singer, JERO

JERO, born Jerome Charles White, Jr. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a Japanese Enka (Japanese traditional music genre) singer who is American-born of African-American and Japanese descent. His grandmother was Japanese. Jero began singing Enka actively at the age of six and continued to study the Japanese language all throughout high school and university. He moved to Japan in 2003 and debut in 2008. He is the first black Enka singer in Japanese music history.
